There are so many meanings of Christmas. Some people believe many different things, like family time, celebrating the lord, food, presents, and making memories. Most little kids love Christmas for the gifts and hanging out with family. Being with family during the holiday can help boost everyone’s spirits when they’re down, especially since it’s sick season.
“Christmas to me is about celebrating with my family, especially with losing family members and friends, and it’s a time we come together and celebrate their memories,” Taylor McRoberts (‘29) said.
This can be a time of going and seeing Christmas lights, putting up decorations, listening to Christmas music, and baking cookies. Some people can go all out, and some people don’t mind not having decorations. It all just depends. Decorations can come in a variety, such as white Christmas, colorful Christmas, pastel Christmas, red Christmas and so much more.
“Putting out decorations is one of my favorite parts of Christmas because I can drink hot chocolate, watch movies, and eat sweet treats all while making my house look like Christmas threw up all over my house,” Brooke Twellman (‘29) said.
Christmas time is such a fun time to bake sweet treats and make different foods. Cooking for others during the holiday season can be a huge help with all the stress. It is also a fun way to spend time with family. Whether it’s baking with family, baking for a special event, or baking for loved ones.
“My mom and I like to bake our favorite Christmas cookies, which are sugar cookies with a Hershey kiss on top, and we like to do this on Christmas Eve before we go to my grandparents,” Violet Collins (‘29) said.
Christmas and New Year’s, as well as other holidays, can be exciting and so fun. Spending time with family and friends, gift giving, and making people feel good.
