Balancing school, homework, sports and friends in an already busy schedule can be hard, and it’s easy for students to feel overwhelmed during the week. Having things to look forward to during the year, both big and small moments, helps make the school year way more enjoyable.
For many students, hanging out with friends is the thing they look forward to the most during the week.
“I always look forward to seeing my friends and spending time with them,” Ally Gregoire (26) said.
This shows how important friends is during the school year. She also said that she enjoys spending time at home with her family.
“I like to watch Jeopardy with my mom,” Gregoire said.
This also shows how a good relationship with your family can lead to a better week. Some students also look forward to breaks during the school day.
“I look forward to WIN time because I get to spend time with all my friends,” Ava Richter (28) said.
Even with small breaks during the day, it can still it can still be stressful.
“When I get stressed, I like to listen to music to calm my body,” Richter said.
While many things can be stressful in High School there are still things to look forward to.
“I’m the most exited to play games with my friends over the snow days,” Richter said.
This highlights how days off during the school year can be something that students can enjoy with each other. While school days can be somewhat enjoyable the weekend will always be something to look forward to.
“I always look forward to the weekend when I get to stay home and hang out with my friends and my boyfriend,” McKenzie Creech (26) said.
This shows how importing it also is to have a good and stress-free time outside of school life. Reflection is for many people a great way to stay grounded.
“When I’m stressed, I like to journal in my bible,” Creech said.
While High School years can be a good time filled with friends and sports, many students also look forward to later events.
“I can’t wait to graduate at the end of the year,” Creech said.
This is a goal many students share. Even though students look forward to different things, a common theme is that having small as well as big things to be excited for makes the school year easier. No matter if it’s friends, family, hobbies or goals those moments gives students motivation throughout the school year.
