North Point High School just had its annual Swafford game this last week, bringing students and teachers together for a time of competition and school spirit.
Many students mentioned how this game was one of the highlights of their final year.
“It was good, it was fun. It was a good experience and I’m really glad I got to do it, but it was bittersweet knowing it was one of the last things I got to do with my class,” Greysen Curan (‘26) said.
Even if a lot of people were excited about the game, not everyone was happy about the outcome. The teachers came out on top, which left some seniors agitated.
“I would say it was pretty bad because we lost. It was biased because Coach Z was refereeing.” Van Moore (‘26) said.
Teachers on the other side said they were preparing before the game and worked well together to secure the win.
“The teachers played well. We were game planning the whole time and adjusting our defense,” said Mr. Clamors.
The teachers also said how improvements in the game have compared to other years.
“It was definitely better than it was the last couple of years, and it was not as packed as other schools usually do, but it was still the best we’ve had at North Point.” Mrs. Pezelle said.
Even with many different reactions about the result of the game, it still brought energy and excitement to the school. For seniors, it was another awesome memory to take with them as they get closer to graduation.
