From December 8-12, the hot cocoa bar will make an exciting comeback in the cafeteria for its second year, bringing holiday cheer and chocolate to teachers and staff. The cocoa bar is sponsored by the publications department and organized by Ms. Swanson. The event became a fun event that many students wanted to enjoy last year. However, last year it was only for faculty and staff.
This year, students from all grade levels can come enjoy hot chocolate for $2. The publications students help make the drinks, restock and supply toppings, and greet the staff with holiday cheer.
“I really enjoy helping Ms. Swanson and getting to know the teachers,” Alonna Carter (‘26) said.
Teachers and staff were both excited to stop by each day and try new flavors. Mrs. Holzen-Mason said she felt “very appreciated” by the effort students put into running the table.
“They really went above and beyond. Some days they even played Christmas music; it was so sweet,” Holzen-Mason said.
The Cocoa bar will be in the cafeteria from December 8-12, during both halves of lunch. The cost is $2 for students and free for all staff members. There will be a wide variety of toppings that are provided to customize your drink the way you want it.
