Mobile games are quickly getting more and more popular amongst high school students, with two popular games being Clash Royale and Brawl Stars, both created by Supercell. These games have millions of people addicted to the competitive game style.
After asking students which games they prefer, students had different opinions.
“I like Clash Royale more because every match feels like a puzzle,” Dalton Albers (‘26) said., “You have to plan ahead, make a good deck, and pay attention to what the other person is doing.”
However, another student had a different view.
“Brawl Stars is my favorite game because it’s fast-paced and fun.” Paige Bahr (‘26) said, “It’s fun being able to play quick games and try out new Brawlers.”
In Clash Royale, players collect new cards and upgrade their current cards to create their decks, using them to get more trophies and advance to new arenas.
“I have around 13,000 trophies right now,” Hayden Duke (‘26) said. On the other hand, Brawl Stars is focused on teamwork and quick decision-making; players choose from different brawlers with different abilities and play in different game modes like Gem Grab, Brawl Ball, and Showdown.
Both games are very popular because they are easy to learn, but they get more difficult as you progress.
“They are easy for beginners, but the game is still hard for people who have been playing for a while,” Ben Mulenga (‘26) said, “Plus, there are always new updates and new seasons in the game, which keep the game exciting.
Both Clash Royale and Brawl Stars have strong communities and are very popular with high school students. They both bring people together, whether they are playing against each other or working together.
“Whether I am battling my friends or teaming up with them, it’s fun no matter what. It isn’t about winning, it’s about having fun with my friends,” Paige Bahr (‘26) said.
