The Girl’s Soccer team took home 3 wins so far this season. The girls put up an impressive offense. Critical moves on the field by Gia Zerface (‘25) to clutch the win. The defense was strong as well, especially our goalie Devan Tracy (‘25).

“I love being a goalie. It’s less running and less pressure on me,” Tracy (‘25) said.

The team has played:

Mexico: 9-0

Westminster: 3-1

McCluer North: 4-1

Taking a win against each team.

In the game against Westminster, a player earned their first soft pretzel. Pretzels are earned when a player gets a header in from a corner kick. Amelia Foster (‘25) took home the first soft pretzel.

The game against Mexico was a shutout by the defense. 5 goals were earned by Zerface including the first goal of the entire season.

The Westminster game was the first home game in girls’ soccer history.

“It felt great winning the first-ever North Point home soccer game, even though I didn’t score any goals,” Olivia Stenberg (‘25) said.

The team has had an impressive run so far this season, but that does not mean they can’t improve.

“We could do better with our first touches and just like our ball skills,” Tracy said.

Tracy is a captain of the team as well as Kensey Rose (‘24) and Izzy Kuykendall (‘23). Rose and Tracy have started in every game this season.

The girls play freshman, JV and varsity games. The team has a game on 4-6-22 against Winfield.

“I’m very excited for tonight’s game but I am also quite nervous. We’ve been playing well so far but the teams are going to increasingly get harder,” Catherine Hunn (‘25) said.

Our Girl’s Soccer Team is going to face some tough competition throughout the ongoing weeks. Some of the team are nervous but excited about the upcoming challenges.
