Do you see the color pink all around you? Do you see people cheering really loud for raising awareness about breast cancer? We all know what that means. Let’s pink out!
Many people know how meaningful this night really is to a lot of people.
“I think it’s important because it brings attention to breast cancer,” Ciara Stinson (‘26) said.
She added that it’s more than just another game as usual.
“Yeah, because it’s for a bigger cause and it’s not just like any other football game,” Stinson said.
Another cheerleader, Jamison Wilmesherr, also shared how meaningful the night feels too.
“I think it’s important because it represents breast cancer awareness and the struggles that breast cancer survivors go through and people with breast cancer and how they live,” Wilmesherr said.
And he is not holding back his school spirit either.
“Yes, ma’am, I will be cheering extra hard,” Wilmesherr said.
On the football side, the players are feeling the energy as well.
“The Pink Out is important to show awareness for cancer,” Maqel Campbell (‘26) said.
He also said the team is prepared to give it their all and win this Friday.
“Yes, we do have to play better this Friday,” Campbell added.
Others also shared how the game means a lot to them too.
“It is important because it is important to raise breast cancer awareness,” Tyrone Williams (‘26) said.
And with it being such a special night for so many people, he’s even more motivated to win.
“I mean yeah, I feel like it’s important to win because it’s breast cancer awareness and senior night,” Williams said.
Teachers at our school also recognize the importance of the theme of this game.
“Well, it’s always important to raise awareness about a good cause and to encourage people to take care of themselves and their health,” history teacher Kellie Foster said.
She also pointed out how this night helps shine a light on women’s health.
“I think women’s health in general is underfunded and understudied, and we can highlight women’s health,” Foster said.
Others also shared why the Pink Out theme matters to them.
“It’s important to raise awareness for breast cancer and to remind people to be mindful of their bodies when it comes to cancer,” Crystal Kamish said.
And for her, this night is even more special.
“I had breast cancer, so it’s important and personal to me,” Kamish said.
At the end of the day, the Pink Out isn’t just about wearing pink, but it’s about standing together, showing support, and remembering what the night’s theme is really about and what the pink really stands for. Whether you’re cheering on the sidelines, playing on the field, or teaching in the classrooms, we all have a reason to go all out in pink on a special night like this. So, this Friday, let’s show up, show out, and pink out.
