Uniforms have been used to show unity and equality in schools. However some may argue that they do more harm than good, and that they don’t give people the option to express themselves through their clothes.
“Coming from a teacher who worked at a school that requires uniforms and a school that doesn’t require them,” Mrs.Ohlms said.
“They are extremely helpful, allowing the school uniformity, and less distractions,” Ohlms said.
Uniforms can be a good thing, they bring everyone together and show their school spirit. They allow everyone to become a whole, but also show off their personalities and physical features with one another since they may not be able to express themselves by the way they dress.
“Uniforms are a good thing,” Molly Heisler (29’)
“They make everyone the same and help keep everyone modest but yet cute in so many ways,” Heisley (29’) said.
“Sometimes they may use bows for girls which are obviously super cute,” Heisler (29’) said.
“They make sure we all look presentable and you don’t have to wake up super early in the morning to pick out an outfit” Heisler (29’) said.
Some may say it’s not the best thing and they believe it’s better to dress themselves in whatever they please. In some ways yes it does, in others some clothes may be revealing and show too much leading people to get dress coded and if you have uniforms it’s less likely to happen. In your own personal style you can be comfortable.
“I also appreciate not having them, allowing students to have a mature wardrobe, and being able to add their own personal flair and spin to anything” Ohlms said.
They give students the opportunity to be themselves while still being modest and having fun with their clothing, as well as twining with friends for fun days or spirit days.
