This year our school’s girls’ basketball team is more ready than ever to hit the court! With a strong group of players, big goals, and amazing teamwork and everyone’s excited to see what the season will bring.
“My goal is to have a winning record,” Alex Coe (27) said.Coe is set on starting the season off strong and to keep that energy going.
“I think we have a good team so I’m excited for getting to play together,” Coe said.
She believes teamwork is one of their biggest strengths.
“We are really good at lifting each other up and if we make mistakes, we are good at having each other’s backs,” Coe said.
Her words really show how much the players care about supporting each other. Coe’s confidence also shows how close the team is and how much they believe in and care about each other.
Many others are also ready to give it their all this season.
“My goal is to win and keep my effort in no matter how much we are down by,” Taylor McRoberts (29) said.
McRoberts focuses on effort and never ever giving up.“I’m excited to get out there,” McRoberts said.Her excitement shows how ready she is to start competing with all her teammates.
McRoberts’s determination to always give her best shows the strong bond that pushes the team forward.
For others, confidence and teamwork are key.
“My goal is to have confidence and win with the team,” Georgie Apostalides (29) said.
Apostalides is planning to build her confidence while also helping the team succeed.
“I’m excited to make new friends, and just play with everybody,” Apostalides said.
She’s looking forward to connecting with new teammates both on and off the court.
“I feel like everyone at high school, and everybody just cheers for everyone,” Apostalides said.
Her words show how much school spirit and support on the team means to her.
Georgie’s words really show how much the team values friendship, support, and school pride.
Many also have their eyes set on going far this year.
“My goal is to go far in districts,” Maycie Leinski (28) said.
Maycie is ready to push herself for a strong season.
“I’m excited to play a lot more this year and travelling a lot more,” Leinski said.
She’s looking forward to gaining more experience with her team.
“They push me in practice to make me the best version,” Leinski said.
She knows that hard practices is what really makes the team stronger together.
Leinski’s goals really show her drive to improve and challenge herself throughout the season.
Finally, it is also about hard work and fun.
“My goal is to win districts and have a winning record,” Lauryn Johnson (28) said.
Lauryn wants to finish the season strong.
“To play with my teammates and just have fun on the court,” Johnson said.
She believes that enjoying the game is just as important as winning.
“Pushing during drills to make me better,” Johnson said.
Johnson knows that every bit of effort that they put into practice pays off during their games.
Johnson’s positive attitude shows how much effort and joy this team brings to the games.
With goals like these and a team that truly supports each other, it’s clear this season is going to be something very special.
