We have a lot of new freshmen this year, some excited, some nervous, some feel better now having been here for a few weeks.
What are some of the favored classes? Well, let’s see.
“I love cultural geography,” Brenley Pate,(‘29) said “ It’s a good environment”
“My favorite is English,” Shannon McDaniel (‘29) said. “ The teacher is chill, and the kids in that class don’t cause problems, so I’m able to get my work done.”
Pate also commented on some subjects that she finds harder, which give her a little bit of trouble.
“AME is hard,” Pate said, “There are some topics in that class that I can’t comprehend.”
Math is also a struggle for some freshmen.
“Algebra is hard,” Jaxin Geuin (‘29) said. “Some of the concepts we work on are difficult.”
As expected, we had some who were excited as well as nervous for their first day of high school. However, that did change for most of them as we got somewhat farther into the school year.
“I had a mix of both feelings because I was ready to get out of my old school, but I knew no one here,” Ellie Johnson (‘29) said. “However, it’s better now, further into the year, because I’m getting used to the adjustments.
Overall, the nervousness of starting at a new school diminished as the end of the first quarter came to a close.
“I was nervous, because it’s a lot of new people,” Geuin (‘29) said, “It’s better now because I know more people.”
