At our school, football is a popular sport. Everyone comes to the Friday night games to cheer and support our team. Most dress out and participate in the themes of each game. As of the past few weeks, our football team has not lost one game. This truly encourages our students to support them.
A few of our school’s football players have specific preparations to get ready for a good game. Maybe eating a good meal beforehand or going to school and getting all of their assignments done and turned in to feel accomplished. One interesting thing almost every player said is that they drink pickle juice. One football player, Ty’Ron Williams (26), drinks pickle juice before every game.
“We drink pickle juice before every game so we don’t cramp,” Ty’ron said.
When our school’s football players were asked if there was any pressure to uphold the winning streak, almost none of them said they were nervous. The confidence is high and the team is ready to win the last few games. Max Palo-Judge (26), says he sometimes is anxious, but overall feels very comfortable where the team is.
“A little bit, but feeling very confident though,” Palo-Judge said.
Our kicker at our school, Landon Manco (27), ended up kicking the game winning points during our game against one of our rivals, Liberty. His thoughts on the experience were as expected.
“It felt surreal. I was nervous but it felt good to make it,” Manco said.
Even though our school has an impeccable winning record, the players can still continue to improve. Every one of the players said that there was an area they could work on, one being Anthony Baugher (26).
“Our players can work on keeping their assignments in their head to make sure everyone is executing their job,” Anthony Baugher said.
A few of the players from the football team were asked what the team did to make sure they had the win secured. A few ways they would secure the win was to stay in the right mindset or even to just believe in each other. Ty’Ron Williams agreed and said the same.
“We stayed disciplined and fought the whole game,” Williams said.
Finally, when our school’s football players were asked what they do to celebrate a win, most of them said they like to hang out with their friends and eat. Almost every single student said that they eat a ton after the game.
“Get a post game meal with the boys,” Max Palo-Judge said.
With a record of 5 and 0, the team is super excited to see what else they can achieve.
