With senior year going by fast, so is Hunter Stahl through the finish line of Sioux passage with a course record.
On September 20th, 2025 we witnessed one of the most historic moments that our school has ever seen for cross country at Sioux Passage in St. Louis for the Paul Enke Invitational.
We had four Personal Records, 14 Medals, and got a trophy for both boys Varsity, and girls JV.
Hunter Stahl and Eli Yoder both took home first place finishes from our Varsity and JV teams, along with a 2nd place finish from Mitchell Lerner, and Audrey Auer on the boys varsity, and girls JV teams.
“The course was tough, but I was tougher,” Eli Yoder (‘28) said.
Not only did Eli Yoder win, he finished with a time of 19:13.25, and won by a total of 21 seconds.
“I went into the race hopeful that I would win, and maybe set a course record, but even ended up surprising myself.” Hunter Stahl (‘26) said.
Hunter Stahl now has the course record with a 5K time of 15:45.0, He won the race by almost a minute and a half, and broke the previous course record by 43 seconds.
“The course was really tough and hilly. Almost all hills actually, whether sideways, up, or down there was always a hill.” Gage Garrett (‘27) said.
Sioux Passage in St. Louis is a very hilly cross country course with an incline of elevation with three hills known as Man Maker, Confidence Breaker, and RollerCoaster.
Although we did not place first, this course also helped us set up, and prepare us for Districts as it will be held at Sioux Passage this year.
“A good part of our team has experienced Sioux Passage and we should be sitting pretty good for districts for a minimum of at least third place.” Garrett said.
We are doing very well this season, and hope to see how much more that we will improve, and see where this can take us as the season comes to a close.
