After a lot of excitement, and a ton of waiting, everyone was anticipating a mascot. The Grizzly has been revealed, and named during the DEN time prep rally.
Many names were suggested by students, and after a schoolwide vote over the past few weeks, the name was chosen by our student council and student voters was Grizz. Other potential names that were submitted by our students on Instagram were Gurt, Gary, Lagrizgriz and Gus.
The name was announced during the homecoming pep rally that happened on Thursday during DEN time.
“Some schools don’t have money, and we have money so we can have a mascot,” Connor Thompson (‘28) said.
With over 1,000 people showing up to homecoming, it shows that our school has the funds and is capable of something as big as Grizz to be shown off, and bringing something iconic to the educational learning destination.
“This grizzly will give our school more spirit, and will be fun for pep rallies.” Brady Giger (‘28) said.
With the grizzly being revealed, we have seen a rise in student spirit during the spirit week, and our school
merchandise.
“We needed a mascot since we have a grizzly as a logo, but no grizzly.” Cooper Ewens (‘28) said.
With the Grizzly mascot, we will bring more people to football games, or school activities so they can take pictures and video with the big friendly mascot that represents our school.
