This year, our school is doing an “Addams Family” musical. The main cast of our production of “The Addams Family” is excited
for this show. Though we may think they’d be nervous, they are actually more excited than nervous.
Coen Olexa (’26) was cast as Fester.
“I am so excited,” Olexa said. ”This is my favorite character, so I’m so excited I got this role.”
Olexa was very excited to audition for “The Addams Family.”
“I auditioned and was successful in making it into every cast, so I probably would’ve been attacked and burned at the stake had I not auditioned,” Olexa said.
However, as expected, we do have a few who are nervous.
“I’m really excited to be in it; however, nervous to portray the character of Gomez because he’s so iconic,” Joey Wilburn (‘27) said.
The roles assigned to some participants were a shock to them, such as the participants who were given the roles of Morticia and Pugsley.
“I was in shock to get Morticia,” Zoe Edmonds (‘27) said, “ I didn’t think they’d want me for a role like that.”
Ayla Dubbe (’29) was cast as Pugsley.
“I was very proud of myself,” Dubbe (‘29) said. “I was shocked because I was the only freshman who made the main cast.”
We have a few seniors who are nervous about the role they were given, as well as certain characteristics they’re nervous to portray.
“I’ll have a lot more lines this year than I did in others, so it’ll be harder for me to memorize my lines of Lucas, but once I memorize them, I’ll be good,” Brandon Graham (‘26) said.
For the humorous side of portraying a character’s personality, we have Alice’s role.
“She had a more promiscuous personality,” Caya Spencer (‘26) said,” So, I may struggle to bring out her wild side.”
