When you were younger did you ever get shocked seeing a teacher at the store and wonder why they are there? Well, teaching is just their job. They have a life, and yes, they do go out to eat. In fact, when asked about their favorite fast food, teachers had a lot to say.
“If I had to pick one, it would be McDonald’s breakfast, honestly because it’s good and cheap,” Mr. Johnson said.
Others prefer chicken.
“I don’t really care; it’s up to my boys, so usually Chick-fil-A,” Mr. Schmidt said.
Mrs. Dockett also prefers Chick-fil-A.
“We eat Chick-fil-A a lot because my son likes chicken,” Mrs. Docket said.
For some, the chain is about variety or family options.
“Chick-fil-A, because it has much more options for my kids,” Mrs. Brown said.
While Mrs. Junker likes the Gluren free options.
“Chick-fil-A, because they have gluten-free and some of the others don’t have that option.”
Ms. Hill and Ms. Krug agreed. They claim that Chic-fil-A has it down and that it is good.
Other teachers leaned toward different favorites.
“I guess Panda Express, because it reminds me of where I grew up,” Mr. Brown said.
Some other options around the Wentzville area are newer restaurants.
“I like Soulard Gyro’s, because it’s really good Greek American food,” Mrs. Ohlms said.
Mrs. Swanson a dDr. Shelmire both chose Chipotle for similar reasons.
“I like Chipotle best, because it’s healthy,” Ms. Swanson said
However, Dr. Shelmire admitted it might not be all that healthy.
“I like Chipotle because it’s supposed to be healthy, but it really isn’t,” Dr. Shelmire said.
Sandwich lovers also had their say.
“Penn Station is great because I love eating a hot toasted sandwich,” Amy Anderson said.
Ms. Bond, the art teacher, agrees.
“This is a hard question. Is Penn Station fast food?” Ms. Bond asked.
Another restaurant that was a favorite has been in Wentzville a lon time.
“Lion’s Choice is my favorite, and I like that they have freshly shaved meat.” Ms. Foster said. “They are my favorite fast food restaurant because they have this amazing seasoning and they have nugget ice.”
Some picked places for their sauces.
“Raising Cane’s is my favorite because I like their sauce and the bread,” Mrs. Bartholomey said.
Mr. Telker agrees.
“Canes, because of the sauce,” Mr. Telker said.
Mrs. Anderson wishes Wentzville had a Slim Chickens.
“I like Slim Chickens, because they have really good chicken,” our attendance clerk, Mrs. Anderson said.
Variety also played a role.
“I like Sonic because of the variety,” Mr. Kolons said.
Sometimes the choice is all about the fries.
“Wendy’s has good fries, and you can get a Frosty and of course the Baconator,”Coach Zangriles said.
Others had more than one answer.
“I like Culver’s or Taco Bell,” Mr. Purcell said.
Chick-fil-A was a popular choice with everyone, even those who chose two.
“I like Chick-fil-A and Lion’s Choice,” Mrs. Pokorney said.
And of course, some choices were personal and nostalgic.
“I likePopeyes, because it’s good spicy Louisiana chicken,” Mr. Vercher said.
At the end of the day, whether it’s sandwiches, chicken, or ice cream on the side, one thing is clear: teachers enjoy fast food just like everyone else.
