You’re in your 4th hour class, and your stomach growls of pure hunger, and your mouth craves sweet, hot, delicious fast food. The only thing stopping you, the DoorDash ban.
Due to the recent state legislature ruling, phones have been banned from being out during class hours, as a result. It has also led to the outright ban of any DoorDash from North Point High School. Some students are not happy about the ban, but have come to accept it.
“Lowkey, the school food is kinda not good, and I can’t eat the food I want,” Jeremy Bushman (‘26) said, “But I’m working with it. I am saving more money, not spending $15-20 per day.”
The cafeteria is working on this and has added a nacho bar.
“It actually tastes like Chipotle,” Brady Giger (‘28) said.
Other students, however, are not okay with the DoorDash ban.
“The school food is not great,” Alexa Griffin (‘28) said, “A lot of kids don’t like the school food or don’t pack lunch, because maybe they forgot it or can only eat certain things, so they used DoorDash.”
Even though the ban was controversial, we all took the ability to DoorDash for granted.
“Not a lot of districts had it, it was like a privilege,” Brody Clemons (‘26) said.
Although students might put the blame on the school, they are not fully responsible for the ban,
“It was all the high schools that decided to ban it,” Mrs. Krista Anderson in the front office said.
It might take some time to get used to, but in the long run it will be beneficial both financially and nutritionally for all students.
