It’s that time of the year again, time to pick your next student council president and this year the two people running are Kendall Thurman (‘26) and Reid Struckmann (‘26).
You have probably seen all the campaigning that has been done this week but how much do you really know about each of the candidates?
Thurman started her student council journey in middle school when she became the president and since then has done a lot to help out in her school community and hopes to continue.
“I want to make sure that as many people’s voices are heard as possible and that I can represent as many people as possible,” Thurman said
She has been in student council since her freshman year, going into her senior year would be her third and she hopes to have it as president.
“I was the student council president in middle school and I also just really love the people in StuCo and we could all work together very nicely,” Thurman said.
Next up we have Struckmann, he has also been doing student council since freshman year so next year would also be his third year which, he too, is hoping to spend as president.
“I think that I saw the opportunity and I think that the possibility of the impact that I could make in the school and I just figured let’s give it a shot and I am very excited,” Struckmann said.
Struckmann hopes to plan new events and get the school to really bond together, hoping to create a stronger bond between the students.
“I want to be able to properly communicate and I think I can do that because I am very involved in the school with a lot of my activities and I think that will help me be able to reach a larger amount of students,” Struckmann said.
There is a pep rally during DEN time and that is when everyone will be able to vote, so make sure you cast your vote to get your voices heard.
