This year we hosted a Veterans day breakfast hosted in the library before school. Students invited family and friends to join us as we honored those who served for our country.
Choir performed the National Anthem and America the Beautiful to show thanks to our Veterans.
“Singing to the veterans felt so much more touching because they were able to connect to the songs and we got to appreciate them for what they’ve done,” Josh Hudson (11) said. “It was different than singing to a crowd because we showed up for them and to honor them, rather than a crowd showing up for us.”
The event was very impactful for everyone. Even students who have Veterans in their families who could not attend took this chance to honor the ones who were able to be there.
“It meant a lot to be able to honor them and thank them for their service, especially since I have Veterans in my family,” Isabel Ghafoori (11) said.
On this day, a lot of people were moved as everyone came together as a community and honored the people who fought for our country. Overall, the event was a huge success. People are hoping to make this a lasting tradition that will continue for years to come.
“It was so special getting to honor the Veterans,” Sydney VanGundy (12) said. “It felt amazing to show the pride and respect we have for them.”
Everyone enjoyed having time to honor and spend time with our Veterans. What they have done for our country is amazing and we all wanted to honor them and show them thanks. Mrs. Kahoe did a wonderful job organizing this event and our community did a wonderful job showing the appreciation and pride we have for our Veterans and our country.
