With the start of a new school year also comes the start of a new musical production put on by Milhous and the rest of the cast and crew. This year’s musical is “Big Fish”, based on the novel by Daniel Wallace. This musical is a very touching story that follows a man who is battling cancer.
Milhous will be directing this show with the help of many other students.
“I’m excited for this one,” Milhous said. “It’s going to be more story-driven than the ones we’ve done in the past.”
The auditions were held on August 26 through August 28 and the cast list just came out.
“There is a lot of new talent this year, not just from the freshman but other grades as well,” Madison Anderson (‘26) said. “This story is very heart touching, different than we have done in the past, I’m excited to see how everyone likes it.”
Anderson has been cast as one of the lead roles, Jenny Hill. Tyler McCarthy (‘26) is the assistant stage manager this year and they are excited for the role.
“I’m excited for all the technical elements, music and story of the show this year,” McCarthy said.
For this production, they have decided to make the set a little different and make it more portable than sets in the past.
Asher Ackerman (‘26) is the Props Crew Designer and is ready for the challenge of this new role.
“A lot of our props will be made by props crew and tech theater classes,” Ackerman said. “I will be making and overseeing the props. I am the only one with this position. I’m excited for the challenge for this show because it’s much bigger than previous years.”
Make sure to be on the lookout for the date when the show will be put on. You will not want to miss it.
