On May 7, 2024, we had the Grizzly Claw Awards and Senior Departmental Awards. The award ceremony was held in the school auditorium. 85 recipients received multiple awards, including the Grizzly Claw and departmental awards.

Each recipient had a paragraph written about them from a nominating teacher or department about why they were receiving the award. The best part was that none of the recipients knew who chose them or whether it was a teacher or department who nominated them.

It was really fun to hear the recipients talk about who they think may have picked them. Everyone was dressed in business casual attire for the ceremony. Well…besides…Swanson, who was in a St.Louis Cardinals jersey because she was heading to the game right after she gave out her award to Dylan Paul.

Every recipient and whomever they were chosen got to get their picture taken by Dr.Jacob Adams. I received the Special Education Department award. Many of my teachers came up to give me the award.

After the ceremony, everyone was invited to head to the cafeteria for cupcakes, cookies, coffee or lemonade. It was a wonderful celebration for all the recipients.
