We recently had a Turkey Drive Fundraiser at our school on Wednesday, November 15.
All the turkeys that we raised are going to St. Charles County Juvenile Office partnering with No Hunger Holiday.
“It’s nice that you’re giving back to your own people in need,” Hali Hill said.
This brings turkeys for families in need in the area.
“This really brings everyone together to help out,” Hill said.
Our school has made some fun out of this event and challenged every 4th hour class to raise the most turkeys.
Last year we raised 113 turkeys.
The class that raised the most turkeys get cookies.
Ms. Hill’s class has now won for the 3rd year in a row.
Our clubs FBLA, DECA, FCCLA, and STUCO all got to the school at 6:30 to help out as well.
This year our turkey count was 65.
There has been an extreme rising cost of turkeys due to inflation.
“I paid $52 just for my one turkey,” Sydney Swanson said.
Turkeys have gone up over $20 per turkey in the past year.
