Announcing the cast of the spring play
January 31, 2023
Ever since “You can’t take it with you” was announced to be this semester’s spring play, students in the theater department have been doing their best in order to make their next theater production shine. “You can’t take it with you” follows the story of a young lady falling in love with a man, despite her in-laws disapproving of her. Nearly all students who were casted for the play are super excited to make way for the next theater production, and make sure that it leaves an impact on the school’s theatrical legacy, and give our seniors something to remember as they get ready to leave.
“I decided to join the play because Percy Jackson was such an amazing experience and I loved being amongst so many talented actors, and I want to be a part of as many theater productions as I can,” Madison Anderson said. “I wanted the part of Alice, and I was super excited when I found out that I was chosen to play her!”
“I was a part of the tech crew for the musical last semester, so I figured that being in the play this semester would be a lot of fun, and I know a lot of people that are involved with the play,” Taryn McCarthy said. “I really love comedy plays and I figured that being in the play would be really fun to participate in. I didn’t want a particular role, I just wanted to be in the play. And to my luck, I got the part of Reba the maid.”
“I decided to join the play because my brothers are all thespians, and I wanted to join them in their legacy,” Tiana Clarke said. “I wanted the part of either Alice or Penny, and I ended up getting Penny. I was very happy when I got the part, and with my past experiences in the theater, I wasn’t very nervous heading into auditions, and I’m very excited for opening night.”
Rehearsals have started and opening night will be March 9th. Everyone in the theater department is working hard, and we all hope to see you there.
