With spring on the way, that means warmer weather and shorts and t-shirts and spring break. That also means the spring sports are here at Northpoint. The spring sports we have to offer are Baseball, Track, Girls Soccer, Boys Tennis and Golf. With baseball being one of the most popular sports in the United States, it will most likely be the most popular among our students here at Northpoint. 

Try-outs were held last week, and a lot of kids tried out after a week of working trying to show their skills on the field. Some kids made it and others didn’t because the baseball program has a Varsity and JV team.  They play their first games on March 18  and we can see the new baseball jerseys for the first time. Varsity held their first game against Elsberry at Northpoint at 4:30 pm and JV played at 6:00 pm. 

Just like everything else we have at Northpoint, this is the first year for a baseball team. For the first time, we get to see baseball played on the fields. Hopefully, the weather starts to warm up and after school, we get to see baseball for the first time. Some of these kids have been practicing all winter for the opportunity to play for their respective high schools. Here at Northpoint, we have kids that play both sports and others that play baseball all year. 

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is played all around the world and it is most famous in the United States but it is really popular in places like the Dominican Republic and Cuba. But here at Northpoint, we are really excited to have our first baseball season and to start a new culture and start something good.
