Our volleyball girls have won the majority of the games so far. Our record is 15-2. It couldn’t be any better for the girls volleyball team. Everyone gets hyped for the games. Our girls are better together when playing.
The Grizzlies are on a role with their season, their goals and their sportsmanship.
“This is probably one of our best seasons,” Libby Meek (‘26) said. “Our goal right now is to win our conference.”
The team is very senior-heavy, and many of the girls have established a bond.
“There are six seniors, so we have all played together for a long time and know each other really well,” Meek said.
The girls have a really good time while playing and show their skills off.
“The season is going really good, actually,” Marley Williams (’27) said.
The girls are really set on winning the conference and advancing.
“Our main goal is to win the conference and go to districts,” Williams said. “I’d say we all hang out and talk to each other and hang out outside of school.”
Bonding is something they didn’t have to put effort into. They all just clicked. The newer girls are having a good time.
“It’s going good, and I like everyone on the team because everyone’s really positive,” Emma Jones (‘29) said.
For some girls, the goal might be winning the conference, but for others, it is to improve their skills and have fun.
“I tried out just to like get better and have fun as a team,” Jones said.
It is great when there is a good bond between teammates. It builds confidence, friendship, and a foundation for the team.
“Everyone gets along really well,” Jones said.
Coach Young takes so much pride in the girls for winning and showing their hard work off.
“It’s going great so far, 15-2, and we won the Orchard Farm tournament,” Coach Young said. “We are currently undefeated in conference. It’s hard to get any better.”
Everyone on the team, including the coach, is so determined to win the conference.
“The first goal is to win the conference, and if we win tonight, we would be 5-0 in conference,” Young said.
Going out of town for their team bonding experience helped them be better as a team.
“We are senior heavy, and a lot of these girls know each other, so we also went out of town to Branson for a tournament and team bonding, and we went to Silver Dollar City, Dolly Parton Stampede,” Young said.
Albany feels really proud of their win. Our girls look forward to more games.
“The season is actually really good, and we are 15-2,” Albany Humphrey (‘27) said.
Some girls just want to do better and be the best they can.
“I think we are playing better than last year,” Humphrey said.
Some of the girls have been in the game for so long.
“We have been together since my freshman year,” Humphrey said.
