The production of Noises Off put on by our theater department was a huge success. Every night had its own special moments.
“Friday night we had a little bit of a larger crowd and with a comedy you never know when people are going to laugh and when they’re not, so with the audience there the first night you can start to anticipate some of those moments of laughter,” Milhous said.
The show ran for three nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Overall everyone agreed that opening night was the best of the three nights.
“Opening night probably was the best night, our energy was just really high and it was the first time we had an audience so our energy just got bigger and bigger throughout the night, I think that was our best night,” Riley Will (‘25) said.
This show was one of the most difficult productions for our theater department to put on because of all the technical aspects that went into it with the lighting and how the set was designed.
“I think this is probably the best show we have done at North Point from the entire perspective of the tech and actors, I think it is definitely up there, if not, our best show,” Milhous said.
There is a lot of movement in this show with many different technical features including a set that flips all the way around and multiple props. So it was an important job trying to keep track of which props were going on and off stage.
“So figuring out all that movement between the crew and between the cast was really difficult and the entire show is predicated on timing of entrance and exits with all that movement so figuring all that out for the entire 3 hour show was pretty much like doing a ballet,” Milhous said. “Getting that movement down was really difficult but ultimately really rewarding.”
Riley Will is a senior here and this was his last show with our school. He played Gary Lejuene in this play. This was one of his favorite productions he has been a part of besides being in Anastasia.
“I thought it went great, I think this was definitely our best show, I believe the whole technical aspect and the acting aspects were just really good. I do think this is the best show we’ve done,” Will said
