AMI days have been a desirable for many students, even if it means doing work on a snow day.
Having the day off is the perfect opportunity to sleep in, manage time to do school work and at the same time do some favorite cold weather activities.
”I LOVE snowboarding because it’s something I’ve always done with my siblings, and we have a big hill in our backyard so it’s super convenient”, Catherine Hunn said (12).
When given the option between a two-hour late start or a full day off, many students have strong preferences. Some argue that a late start allows for extra rest while still keeping up with schoolwork, but others believe that a full day off is much more beneficial.
“I rather prefer having the whole day off because we don’t get much done on late start days anyways. I would rather sleep in longer and be able to plan fun things for the whole day.”, Hunn said.
Ike Estep (12) agrees.
“I prefer having the entire day off, I get more done on an AMI than a late start to be honest; we just have such little time otherwise.” Estep said.
On the other hand, some people have a different opinion.
“If the roads are really bad, then of course I want the whole day off, but if they aren’t too bad then I’d rather have a two-hour late start,” Braelyn Trager said (12) said. “I like to see all my friends and to feel productive while being able to sleep in.”
Zan Houston (12) agrees with Trager.
“I prefer Iate start, because I can wake up at a more reasonable time and get school stuff done (I still need to graduate y’know),” Huston said.
In the end, whether it’s a late start or a full day off, both options have their benefits. While some prefer the extra time to sleep in and relax for the whole day, others see a late start as a chance to get much-needed rest while still keeping up with schoolwork. Either way, making the most of the time given is what really counts.
