Our theater department has been working on a play to put on that is very different from the last. It is a very technical play called Noises Off that is based off of a farcical british tv show. It is chaotic and there is always something going wrong.
“We’ve been talking the whole rehearsal process, the show is a dance, it’s a ballet, it’s a moment in time between a door opening upstairs and a door opening downstairs all those have to be in sync at the same time, so it’s a really, really difficult technical show,” Milhous said.
This year tech theater has worked harder than they ever had to before. This set is much bigger than ones in the past, this one being two stories tall and able to come apart into three different pieces.
“This production is really pushing our technical skills, really trying to elevate what we build on stage especially in terms of set design,” Milhous said.
This year Milhous had a wonderful group of people that chose to try out.
“We had about 36 people audition,” Milhouse said. “It was great to see our numbers increasing from show to show.”
Caya Spencer (‘26), who is one of the returning actresses this year, will be playing Poppy, the stage manager for the show the characters are putting on.
“I’ve always had a passion for theater so I have tried out for just about every show for my entire high school career so far and I just really wanted to be in it,” Spencer said.
She is very excited to see how the show has been coming along so far and can’t wait to see how the rest of the rehearsal and opening night.
“I’m most excited for when we finally get the flow of the show because it is such a fast paced show that once we finally get it and it all comes together it will be so fun to do and fun for other people to watch,” Spencer said.
Opening night is March 6 with the rest of the shows following it on March 7 and 8 at 7pm. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students, you can buy them online or at the door.
