We have a new reality TV show that Ms Swanson started, along with the host Alonna Carter (11) and judges Cheyenne Kingsbury (12), Zion Letcher (12), and Ezree Johnson (12). This show is called Project Poetry. There were 15 students who all wrote their original poems. Then, in the second round, seven contestants moved on, and so on until one student will win $100. We upload a video of the contestants reading their poems and the judges giving them feedback on Thursdays.
Once the contest moved on to our second round, with seven contestants remaining, the student poets were excited to share their second poem. and it’s going really well. Everyone is so excited and motivated to win. The contestants can show off their poetic writing skills to the entire school.
The judges enjoy giving feedback and helping the students with their writing.
“I like project poetry because it’s a really fun experience and a really good idea within the school,” Cheyenne Kingsbury (12) said. “I like being a judge because I love hearing the different stories everyone is writing about.”
The contestants are working hard to be crowned the best poet at North Point.
“I think it’s a good chance to get people out of their comfort zone and get the opportunity to show off to the school their passion and skill that the school might not even know they have,” Connor Mcdaniel (12) said.
With four contestants moving on to the final round, the competition is getting fierce.
“It’s a really cool experience for me and others and it shows people of the school and people who wouldn’t expect you to be a poet, that you’re really good at it,” Addison Hendee (9) said.
The final four contestants are Abigail McCann, Adeline Dunn, Connor McDaniel, and Vivaian Uzzetta. Be sure to watch NPTV to see who wins the final round.
