The actors and stage crew of the Big Fish musical did an outstanding job at bringing their production to life, getting applause after each song, dance, and scene. Even receiving a standing ovation after night two.
One of the amazing actresses was Sydney VanGundy (‘25) who played the role of Sandra.
“I think the musical was probably one of the best we have had so far and the opening night was definitely one of the best performances we have ever had,” VanGundy said. “This year was my first year having a lead role so it was really nice getting to hear all the feedback.”
This year there was a lot of new talent including Adeline Dunn (‘28) who was apart of the ensemble and was excited to be part of the experience.
“I really enjoyed being able to spend time with a lot of really cool people, making new friends and just getting to perform,” Dunn said.
We’ve also had a lot of returning performers like Josh Hudson (‘26). This year he was the mayor and a witch.
“I think it went really good, the first night was the best because the others had a lot of technical difficulties,” Hudson said.
Of course there are always some difficulties when putting on such a large production.
“Saturday night there were a couple issues and we had to sing acapella but I think it was nice because everyone could hear our voices nicely.” VanGundy said.
The cast and crew have gotten really close this year, and have continued the tradition to go out and celebrate after one of the shows.
“I think that the cast is like a second family,” Hudson said. “It’s like putting on a show with your closest friends.”
All of the performers did a great job at this years musicals and everyone is very excited to see what they have planned for the spring play.
