The powder puff this year was a great success. Whether you were a coach, a player or just watching from the stands, the game was super exciting.
During the game, we saw lots of crowd participation from parents and students. Everyone had great school spirit and were cheering on the girls in the game.
“There was lots of parent support at the Powder Puff Game,” Victoria Heintzelman (‘25) said.
This year, the game was set up a little differently, in the first set of games the juniors played against the freshmen and the sophomores played the seniors. After that, they took the two winning teams to play against each other, which were the Juniors and the Seniors. In the end, the Seniors took home the big win.
Even though not everyone can be a winner, all the players still had lots of fun playing in the game and had great energy and supported the other girls on the team.
“I played good defense,” Brooklyn muller (‘28) said. “Playing with my friends was the highlight.”
The powder puff game was a great addition to our spirit week and it made the week extra fun as it inched closer to homecoming.
“ One of the best moments was when my quarter back threw an interception, it was pretty funny,” Macie Lesinski (‘28) said.
At the start of the practices, most of the girls didn’t know how to play football and only had a few practices to learn the basics. Some teams even hosted practice after school on certain days.
“I thought joining powder puff would be fun and plus I didn’t know how to play football and I thought it would be a good learning experience,” Lilyan Kamish (‘27) said.
The powder puff brought some much school spirit to everyone who attended and overall just up lifted the energy throughout the whole school.
