The lights slowly went down on the football field, as did the rival team. Friday, Sept. 27, our football team gave us another victory to dream about, at the HOCO game.
“The game was very fun to watch. I love seeing our team play good and feeling the energy that our student section puts out for every game” Jesse Halsey (’26) said.
Even from the stands, the energy is high and everyone cheers for our team.
“It was one of our only home games,” Coach Z said “Even if there were a lot of distractions like powderpuff, junior and senior wars, we tried to keep the guys focused. There were some issues with the other team leading to our guys getting riled but no guys kept it, they always maintained professionalism.”
The school spirit was one of the most important things in this game.
“The school spirit was great. we love to see the stands packed our players, our coaches we feed off that energy and the louder it is the band and the student section on the field that much better,” Coach Z said.
The team’s advancement in each game has been apparent to coaches and fans alike.
“We played very well in defense,” Thomas Palo-Judge (’25) said. “But here wasn’t any difference from the other games, the team is always locked in for every game. We were always very focused on each play and ran every play hard and tough. Coaches are very proud of how we managed to get that win.”
With the final result of 28-17, the Grizzlies prepare for the next challenges with renewed determination.
