As homecoming gets closer and closer there is more talk about it. Our student council, more commonly known as stuco, has planned the whole thing out this year with Mrs. Hiza.
This year the homecoming theme is La La Land and stuco has put a lot of effort into the decorations.
“In past years decorations have become almost an after thought in homecoming planning, so this year we wanted to make sure we really put time and effort into them,” Ike Estep said.
There will be lots of starry night scenes and lamp posts to help capture the overall vibe of the movie.
“Our goal is for everyone attending to have fun and to set the scene for the night,” Estep said.
So much will be going on during the week before. Spirit week is all planned out. Wear neon on Monday, white lie on Tuesday, color wars on Wednesday and club shirts/pj day on Thursday.
Mrs. Hiza has also shared a little bit about an addition to spirit week.
“This year there will be a movie night on the Thursday before,” Mrs. Hiza said. This will be on the football field playing the movie homecoming is based around, La La land
This is a great opportunity to get together with your friends and show school spirit.
Our pep rally will be on Thursday during den time. Student council is hoping for lots of participation and fun for all our pep rally’s but especially this one. We will also be welcoming in the fall sports during the pep rally.
On the topic of homecoming, don’t miss the homecoming parade. It will be the morning of Oct. 5. Many school sponsored clubs and sports will have a float.
Make sure you get you tickets! Last minute tickets cost $35 dollars cash and must be given directly to Mrs. Hiza either before or after school.
None of this would be possible without our stuco staff that has put all their efforts into making our homecoming the best in the district.
