There is always morning and after-school traffic. With the increased number of students that are attending, there is going to be a time when there is going to be traffic, especially as the high school and middle school are starting around the same time.
“There have been meetings to discuss what the best solution is, and this is the best we’ve been able to come up with,” Assistant Principal Mr. Hieger said. “I know that there’s going to be continued building and additional roads that are being built that hopefully limit traffic.”
Meanwhile, the heavy traffic can cause students to arrive late to school, which can disrupt their learning routine. Repeated tardiness can result in missing important class instructions or assessments. Repeated tardiness also results in discipline because of our new system called Focus. The system automatically counts up tardies to give discipline after three tardies.
“After meetings to come up with the best solution to limit traffic, we are trying our best, and what we are doing now is the best solution,” Officer Horvath said. “There is no way around the traffic, it’s going to happen regardless. Come early. It’s safer to be early than to be stuck in traffic.”
There are safety concerns. Heavy traffic increases the risk of accidents, which can be a direct threat to students walking or biking to school, as well as those traveling by bus or car. We have some staff directing traffic to limit safety concerns, they are also there to get the buses from High School to Middle School on time.
