Recently, students in Woodshop from all four schools in the District went to Timberland to make beds for those in need.
“We got to make beds for children who don’t have any all around the country,” Connor May (’24) said.
The organization that runs Sleep Heavenly Peace does this with multiple other school districts in order to help children get beds and be able to sleep Peacefully.
“We went to Timberland for a day and we made an assembly line where we sand the beds, cut the lengths we need, and do everything else needed.” May said, “We put the insignia for Sleep Heavenly Peace on it. Then we stained them. After that they assemble them at their warehouse and ship them all out to the kids.”
A lot goes into making sure these kids are helped as much as possible.
“It was a good feeling to know I was helping a bunch of kids who needed it,” May said.
