This past week was our school’s blood drive hosted by HOSA. According to many students, teachers and anyone who donated it went really well.
“It went very well. North Point stepped up with volunteering to donate,” James Craghead said.
Last year the goal was to get 26 units or blood and they got 28 so this year the goal was 28 and they got 43 units. HOSA was very impressed with the increase and thankful for everyone who was willing to donate.
This year the hope was to get all of the sign ups filled which luckily did happen. However; not everyone who signed up showed up or some people couldn’t donate. We always appreciate anyone who steps up and chooses to donate blood to help our community. Next year we want to ask any upperclassmen to step up and donate if possible
“There are few things high school students can do in their communities that have more impact. It’s a simple, fairly, pain free process and it goes a long way to helping the community,” Craghead said.
Make sure that next year when our school does the blood drive again you sign up so that you can help out your community. Remember that to sign up you have to be at least 16 years old and you have to make an appointment before you go in.
