Meet Mrs. Angela Rechtien

Angela Rechtien is a new teacher here at North Point and teaches English I, English II, Creative Writing, Film as Literature and Contemporary Literature. She is enthusiastic about teaching here and is very friendly. She always comes to class ready to teach.

“My first impression of the school was that it was very fancy,” Mrs. Rechtien said.

The main reason Rechtien chose to teach here is that she wanted to be a part of a new school. Teaching at a new school can be a little scary because the school hasn’t built up a reputation, so the students and staff build the culture together. So far, Rechtien thinks the students and staff are very friendly.

Previously, Rechtien taught Spanish and studied in Mexico. This was a really exciting time in her life as she got to do many fun things such as swimming with dolphins.

Rechtien also enjoys camping and hiking. It helps her to get more connected with nature and to calm herself.

One thing Rechtein wants her students to know is that whenever they are in need of a book to read she can find it. The thing that inspires Rechtien the most is when she gets kids to reach their aha moment.

“It’s the whole reason I teach,” Rechtien said.  “I can’t see myself leaving.”

Rechtien is very excited about teaching here and will be a great addition to the North Point staff.
