Mrs. Nichols, one of our science teachers, specifically biology, and the Science Department Chair, won the Teacher of the Year award for our school and was a finalist for Missouri. Last Night, she was announced as the Wentzville School District Teacher of the Year.

Other teachers who were nominated for the school were Mr. Johnson, a special education teacher, and head of the Boy’s Basketball Team, Mrs. Gleason, a special education teacher, Mrs. Krug, a teacher for the family consumer sciences, and head of the FCCLA club, Mr. Matteoni, a social studies teacher, Mr. Milhous, a teacher for the performing arts subject, Mr. O’Donnell, the director for the Grizzly Band, and Mr. Young, the industrial technology teacher.

Before the news hit that she won, Mrs. Nichols answered some questions about her thoughts on being the finalist.

Mrs. Nichols was grateful for representing our school and becoming a finalist.

“It was nice to be recognized by everyone,” Nichols said.

Mrs. Nichols was surprised she was a finalist.

“I wasn’t expecting to be ranked, as there are so many wonderful teachers in the district,” Nichols said.

She even had certain thoughts about winning the main award.

“It would be exciting if I won, I would love to make North Point proud,” said Mrs. Nichols.

After she won, another question was answered about how she felt about winning for the district.

“It was really exciting to win, and even a bit humbling,” said Mrs. Nichols.

We are so very proud of Mrs. Nichols for winning Teacher of the Year for the entire district. Congratulations Mrs. Nichols!
